Tree Care
How do I make my tree last longer?
To ensure maximum freshness, make a fresh, straight cut about a half-inch above the original cut before placing it in water. Keep your tree stand filled with water at all times, and keep the tree away from heat sources like radiators and fireplaces.
How often should I water my Christmas tree?
Water the tree daily. A fresh cut tree can drink a surprisingly large amount of water—sometimes a gallon or more in the first 24 hours. Never let the water level drop below the bottom of the trunk, or a seal will form, preventing the tree from absorbing water.
How soon after cutting should I get my tree into water?
Ideally, your tree should be placed in water within four to six hours after being cut. If more time passes, you should make a fresh cut off the bottom of the trunk to open the pores for water absorption.
